They are useful for the users with little to no connectivity and need to
be done from time to time.

Not if it requires significant work. I see little point in this, but if
someone sees more reason to do this and has the coding ability, then it
cold be done.

No, I do not think it is required to speed up our releases more.

No, IMHO "when it's ready" is more then appropriate with a guide of one
release every 18-24 months.
