Since most contrib packages depend on non-free, the most useful thing
is to list contrib only if non-free is listed.

Or perhaps apt could find all the components that are mentioned on any
non-comment like in the configuration file, and offer that list of
components.  That way, it would not have to know the names of any
particular components.  It would simply preserve whatever selection
of components has already been made.
