Historical background:
I used to connect to the web with a 56k modem.
My ISP terminated their dial-up service.
As I wanted the capability to connect from anywhere that eliminated all
hard wired options.
Cell service was obvious. All the local providers EXCEPT T-Mobile
insisted my *ONLY* option was a smartphone(sic). The T-Mobile salesman
asked intelligent questions about what I wanted to accomplish. He sold
me a WiFi Hotspot. When I set it up I chose the option to disable WiFi.
Effectively I now have a very hi-speed modem.
I have T-Mobile Home Internet as well and the device is a router not a modem.
