You could guess by the answers that it is not (at least not as
simply as you expected).

Go try it. It actually is the sanest advice offered so far.

We all know that "a mibehaving application should...". First, it's
not the system, but KDE (and that is buggy, mind you), second, when
trying to understand a problem, it is more important to know what /is/
than what /should/. And there, Jeffrey's advice is spot-on.
