Full error message:

loading component library

Is it precise error message? Is library file name correct? In general,
you may use <https://packages.debian.org> to find what package
provides some file.
I do see a typo above. It should be libswlo.so.
Take 2: ...

I don't see it with
aptitude or packages.debian.org.
At:
   https://www.debian.org/distrib/packages
Under the heading:
   Search the contents of packages
With fields:
   Keyword=libswlo.so
   Display= packages that contain files named like this
   Distribution=stable
   Architecture=any
Click "search"
Result:
   Found 1 results.
   File = /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/libswlo.so
   Packages = libreoffice-writer, libreoffice-writer-nogui [not armel, riscv64]

If I choose "Help content" I get:

Component cannot be loaded, possibly broken or incomplete installation.
Can you copy/paste the output of:
   dpkg -s libreoffice-writer | grep -E '^Status|^Package|^Version'
and:
   dpkg -s libreoffice-writer-nogui | grep -E '^Status|^Package|^Version'

I do remember some errors running aptitude.

Since I had opened libreoffice several times and seen the error messages I have reported on the list,it didn't occur to me that high level components were missing

The second of your dpkg suggestions showed me that libreoffice-writer was not installed.

Thank you everyone for your help!!

Paul
