Re: libreoffice 7 problems
Hello Paul,
Obviously, I could be mistaken,
but what you see as a Libreoffice problem, I'm inclined to interpret it
as a global upgrade problem: Libreoffice 7.0 was present in Debian 11
Bullseye (OldOldStable), Libreoffice 7.4 was present in Debian 12
Bookworm (OldStable). In Sid (Unstable) you should only have Libreoffice
25.8.

Either your PC was an OldOldStable installation before your migrating to
Unstable, or it was an ill-migrated Stable from OldOldStable before your
migrating to Unstable.
Even if you manage to upgrade parts of your distro that are still not
upgraded, you risk misconfigurations because Debian only support
iterative major upgrades (in your case, Debian 11>12>13>Unstable, not
Debian 11>Unstable). Probably because of post-install scripts in packages.
If you list the obsolete packages on your system (apt list '~o'), you
probably have a respectable number of them (In a proper
Debian Stable with only Debian packages, you have none).
I would advise you to backup your data, install proper Debian 13 Stable
Trixie, modernize its repositories list:
https://wiki.debian.org/SourcesList#Upgrading_to_the_new_format
to the deb822 format:
https://wiki.debian.org/SourcesList#debian.sources_format
and only then migrate to Sid (Unstable)
