That did seem odd to me that xsane only could do single pages. I said to
myself: il doit y avoir un truc.

Right. With simple-scan, you just keep on scanning pages until you're
done.

I just did a four-pager with simple-scan. 2.6m, which is palatable. I
remember having muchos problemos trying to significantly reduce the size
of a pdf once.
