Laptop resumes each 1h13 after suspend-to-ram
Hi,
I have a weird problem with suspend-to-ram with my Dell Precision 3591
laptop, which awakes alone/itself, without touching it, each approx. 1
hour and 13 minutes. This problem has existed since I installed Debian
on it, on January. I tested with several kernels, such as linux 6.12
and 6.16. Note that the awake occurs only I suspend by pressing the
button on the keyboard; if I close the lid it does not awake.
To have more information about the time when it awakes up, I execute:
while true; do systemctl suspend; sleep 9; date; done
and it shows for today for ex.:
Wed 10 Sep 21:21:32 CEST 2025
Wed 10 Sep 22:35:04 CEST 2025
Wed 10 Sep 23:48:34 CEST 2025
Thu 11 Sep 01:02:03 CEST 2025
Thu 11 Sep 02:15:33 CEST 2025
Thu 11 Sep 03:29:02 CEST 2025
Thu 11 Sep 04:42:30 CEST 2025
Thu 11 Sep 05:55:58 CEST 2025
Thu 11 Sep 07:09:26 CEST 2025
It is like there is a hardware timer which fires each 1h13 and awakes
the laptop if it is suspended and the lid is open.
I have tried numerous methods to discover where the problem is and how
to avoid the automatic awake, without luck. For example, I tried:
echo mem >/sys/power/state
echo Y >/sys/module/acpi/parameters/ec_no_wakeup
echo LID0 >/proc/acpi/wakeup etc. and desactive everything
playing with /etc/login.defs
uefi: disable lid switch; enable usb powershare; and wake up when
connect to dock etc.
etc.
Can you give me a sequence of commands to test one after another to
eventually find the culprit which awakes up the laptop?
Thank you,
Eugen
