My 13:33 -0400 post seems to have touched on this console-setup/setupcon duo
mishandling or simply not supporting of multiple displays. 16x32 should not be
anywhere near as small as you describe being exhibited on your vttys. It seems to
have existed more than long enough that it ought to work predictably, and persist
across boots.

I just tested same PC with Trixie, and find setupcon -f does persist across boots,
so you might want to solve this via an upgrade. Trixie's official release is
scheduled for 9 August, less than two weeks away, and it's essentially done now,
mostly just web site and docs work left to do, version freezes long ago. I long
ago put Trixie on every PC I have Bookworm on, more than 20 altogether.
