I do not remember if I explicitly chose some installer menu to save logs, but I have /var/log/installer/ and in particular
/var/log/installer/hardware-summary
So Gene's install logs might shed some light on what actually happened.
I am interested in some equivalent of
lsusb -vt
ls /dev/tty*
executed from installer console or immediately after first reboot. I
suspect Gene may forget to disconnect some USB hub plugged into other
side of the box.
