What physical boundaries do SSDs have to report? All I know about that are exposed
are sector size and sector count. I have yet to find one where logical/physical
were not 512B/512B.

FWIW, I too keep /homes on a separate filesystems from /s. It's sensible
segregation. An OS is easily changed without disturbing user data.
