Have you installed any software via any means other than a Debian package management tool such as apt-get(8)? No only thur the apt-get system.

Also my system freezes, I thought it was just the mouse but it is the whole system.  It usually happens when I have more than four windows open or after I play music.  I have absolutely no idea what is going on.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Have you been keeping system administration records and have you been creating archives, images, and backups as I previously suggested?   I have saved all my files on a second HD and the log files in a file I created for them.  I looked at the one you suggested but could not figure it out.
