Didn't work for me earlier. To fix this I had to add
$template normal,"<%PRI%>%TIMESTAMP% %syslogtag%%msg%"
Who thought of adding "[localhost]" in the middle of all new syslog
lines, and why didn't they coordinate with the logcheck team?
