I poked around a bit. NetBSD seems to honour it... but grudgingly. Here's
from their sh(1) man page [1]

   BUGS
      Setuid shell scripts should be avoided at all costs, as they are a
      significant security risk.

"At all costs": that's a tall order :-)

Dunno what the other BSDs say. As to the other Unices... which
Unices?
