Those files "belong" to the sysstate package. To ensure that your
modifications are preserved on upgrade, then the best way to handle it
is to simply comment out the contents of each file. That way, future
upgrades will prompt you to ask if you want to keep your modifications.
If you remove the files, on the other hand, then future upgrades will
very likely just silently replace the files and cause your problem to
return.
