Wednesday I found that London Drugs sells only USB connected compact
drives now. No more internal drives. No more internal in an external
case.
Also they sell Verbatim DVD-R in 100 packs. ~50 $/100 and ~60 $/100
depending on packaging. Other formats in smaller numbers/package at a
higher price.

Keeping in mind for purchase of fresh media. With the small quantity
of data here, might be a few years off.

might too obsolete to bother with.
