Package rsyslog doesn't have attitude, it has:

$ head -12 /etc/logrotate.d/rsyslog 
/var/log/syslog
{
        rotate 7     ← increase to whatever you like
        daily
        missingok
        notifempty
        delaycompress
        compress
        postrotate
                /usr/lib/rsyslog/rsyslog-rotate
        endscript
}
$
