What is foolish is not to even check in the specifications of one's
computer if it does support USB 3.0 at the hardware level.

There's a trick called "help yourself and we'll help you", this can also
be called "do your part".

Using lsusb you can see on what bus your devices in plugged into. As
computers often have some port only USB 2.0 and some supporting USB 2.0
and 3.0, this way you can make sure your device is plugged into the 3.0
ones.

How to know what port support what type of USB ?

hwinfo --usb-ctrl

And after doing

lsusb -t
