I have already downloaded the ISO, firmware-10.9.0-amd64-netinst.iso,
from the link:

I will dd the ISO to a flash drive and clean reinstall the OS. Have
saved the grub lines for Knoppix too.
Shall proceed with your later steps, whenever required.
