Re: SANE default scanner



I was having the same problem with the same model mfp. I had to go into the HPLIP Toolbox app and setup the printer. Once I did that xsane and simple scan could find the scanner.

Unfortunately, it does not work: for GUI tools, this environment
variable pre-selects the device in the device selection dialog, but it
does not make it appear if it is not detected (?!???@!%@?!!!?).

Also, it works for only one scanner.
