Hello, I am looking for a Linux distribution that is stable and have just installed Debian 9 as a windows 7 replacement. The first major issue I have come across is when I try to install an app and I'm asked for the password no characters are entered when I type. This also happens when I try to enter a search term from the start menu and also a search term when looking for widgets. Can someone help please. I am a newcomer to linux. Thanks Nige
