"incomplete report" flood on kernel v4.18

Hi, I'm getting a lot of spam in dmesg and trying to suppress them:

  [ 1515.920264] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN0903:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (14/65535)   [ 1515.927097] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN0903:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (14/65535)   [ 1515.933965] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN0903:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (14/65535)   [ 1515.940881] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN0903:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (14/65535)   [ 1515.945884] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN0903:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (14/65535)   [ 1515.952902] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN0903:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (14/65535)

I googled and then found the commit https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/ef6eaf27274c0351f7059163918f3795da13199c addressing similar problem, so I upgraded the kernel to 4.18:

  ~ $ uname -rv

  4.18.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.18.6-1 (2018-09-06)

But the problem persists and I have no idea what should I do next.

The output of libinput list-devices:
