Hi, I have a Gigabyte MB with some years with an Intel processor capable of 64bits. If I install Windows or Debian from scratch I can boot in UEFI mode. I can boot a USB pen with a Debian installer in UEFI mode. If UEFI boot it gets broken for a reason, like replacing the boot disk, I can not fix the UEFI boot. This time I have followed the instructions in https://wiki.debian.org/GrubEFIReinstall without avail. I need to understand what is broken with my PC and possibly report the relevant bugs or updating the Wiki page. I have bad experiences updating BIOS, so I prefer not to do it. This time I managed to boot the old installation by using a fresh Debian install in a new disk and selecting one of the secondary entries of grub to boot other OS on the secondary disks. efibootmgr --verbose BootCurrent: 0000 Timeout: 1 seconds BootOrder: 0000,0001,0002,0003 Boot0000* debian HD(1,GPT,4adac19e-a245-4228-91fc-59bb3560cd52,0x800,0xf3800)/File(\EFI\debian\grubx64.efi) Boot0001* rEFInd Boot Manager HD(1,GPT,087f2227-d0d0-4535-b6cc-402603e182ae,0x800,0x100000)/File(\efi\boot\bootx64.efi) Boot0002* rEFInd Boot Manager HD(1,GPT,087f2227-d0d0-4535-b6cc-402603e182ae,0x800,0x100000)/File(\EFI\refind\refind_x64.efi) Boot0003* UEFI: USB Flash Disk 1100 HD(1,MBR,0x4294967181,0xebc,0x340)/File(\EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI)AMBO Kind regards Jose M Calhariz -- -- A cada cinco minutos, 4 pessoas são atropeladas, 6 são vítimas de omissão de socorro, 3 ficam presas nas ferragens e mais de 50 curiosos ficam olhando sem fazer nada.
