systemctl can not start X, but startx can.

Hi.
During a recent update to xorg 1:7.7+19 my graphical environment stopped initializing on reboot.

sudo systemctl isolate graphical.target
fails to initialize the graphics card with these messages:

[   340.372] (EE) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:5:0:0.  Please
[   340.372] (EE) NVIDIA(GPU-0):     check your system's kernel log for additional error

on the other hand:
startx
initializes it with no problems.

I haven't been able to find additional info on what the problem is.

Attached are the two complete Xorg.log files.

Can anyone help?
Thanks.
