As I said already, dpkg does install dependencies. Actually, I don't
know any (Debian) tool which wouldn't, by default.

I really don't know what you're talking about, dpkg knows nothing about apt and its repositories, it can't install any dependency.

That's why i recommend using apt to install .deb files.
