kfd

What is kfd?

My Debian boot is complaining that kfd isn't working correctly (dmesg
| egrep kfd):

kfd kfd: Initialized module
kfd kfd: DID 6779 is missing in supported_devices
kfd kfd: kgd2kfd_probe failed

then just goes on and boots anyway. I'm writing this on that system
with the bent kfd...

As best I've been able to find from Google, etc. kfd's a daemon with
an entry in the BSD General Commands Manual. That entry says something
about receiving tickets -- it doesn't say what kind of tickets or what
cares about receiving them.

And Google says there's a bug having to do with kfd not being
initialized in Linux kernel 4.14 rc3 -- 'uname -r' says
4.14.0-3-amd64, and that sounds pretty close. But dmesg says it's
initialized.
