I would be happy to be notified of a reboot, even when it is expected. But I don't need screeds of kernel messages, which given that a reboot happened, are normal - except that I don't know which ones are normal and which might not be. Also, I don't expect everyone else's requirements to be the same as mine - but filtering out the noise from reboot messages would be useful to me. Richard
