Your initial query has received pretty full treatment and there appears
to be only one pure IM client suggested which fulfills your criteria,
which is TOX. However, you must have been doing your own research on
peer-to-peer IM clients and have come to some conclusion on whether they
are thick on the ground and whether there is one which suits you.
Perhaps you could summarise your findings for the list.
