Your card is only supported up to the 304 legacy drivers series.
It is recommended to install the
    nvidia-legacy-304xx-driver
package

Along with other documentation I have seen. Would love to use the latest and 
greatest rather than legacy excuses.

Since I uninstalled the 304, maybe send me your documentation.
