Possibly that someone else was myself after having examined
debian-live-8.4.0-amd64-standard.iso .

I am now trying to find an old bug report about the "firmware"
partition of the Live CDs being mistaken by users for an EFI System
Partition.
But it seems it was actually about mini.iso:

There is quite a wealth of Debian projects for bootable ISOs. :))
