states "Avoid sending large attachments." implying attachments 
are OK.

As further data:
  11 people have had 16 posts with attachments since 1 Jan 2016 
to this group.
  A friend using aol had regularly sent me emails with 
attachments up until ~4 yrs ago.
  [I hadn't noticed a change as I have SeaMonkey set to display 
attachments.]
