You get these warning because the hardware has a Broadcom ethernet
controller which uses the tg3 module and this module declares it may
need these firmwares :
# modinfo -F firmware tg3
However your Broadcom ethernet controller may not need any of them, or
optionally use one to enable some offload functions.
An aptitude search doesn't turn up anything.
These files are included in the package firmware-linux-nonfree from the
root@frank:/etc/apt# cat sources.list
deb http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ stretch main
deb-src http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ stretch main
deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security stretch/updates main
deb-src http://security.debian.org/debian-security stretch/updates main
What else should be in there ?
The non-free section.
Thanks very much. Changes made to sources.list.
