I am apparently missing some firmware.

An aptitude search doesn't turn up anything.

This is my apt sources list

root@frank:/etc/apt# cat sources.list
#

deb http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ stretch main
deb-src http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ stretch main

deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security stretch/updates main
deb-src http://security.debian.org/debian-security stretch/updates main
root@frank:/etc/apt#

What else should be in there ?

Thanks

Add non-free after main. It will let non-free firmware install.

example:
deb http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/ stretch main non-free
