You need an USB WiFi adapter. Most relevant wrt compatibility with free
drivers is the WiFi chipset inside the thing. In [1] you find a small
list, probably there are more.

I have little experience in the last years, I'm sure there is some
hardware list out there. I've made good experience with Atheros
chipsets, but that's ~10 years ago and those things change quickly.
