hi,

some ISPs block outgoing traffic on port 25 (smtp) for domestic connections, and give you credentials to use THEIR smtp server (to control spam i think).

maybe this is your case...

That sounds more like a problem with the SMTP server and your mail account
with the supplier than with KMail.  What settings have you got?
