and behold - I've got my favorite "enter information manually" just
after the "base system install". Because apparently you choose certain
"Debian archive mirror country" (US I presume from the list of the
mirrors) and what you really needed was right at the top of the
*country selection list*. So, again, apparently you have not looked
hard enough. Of course, there's another possibility is that you
managed to try to install from a counterfeit Debian netinst image :) Reco
It is at country selection; I was going one step too far looking for it.
