It's only a matter of shell PATH, not of permissions.

Now why does my eth0 have so many inet6 addr assigned ?
20 pieces of form
  inet6 addr: 2003:.../64 Scope:Global
One of form
  inet6 addr: fe80:.../64 Scope:Link

I am not the only one to wonder. It's a privacy feature
