Debian does not (yet) have anything like a PPA.
And using Ubuntus PPAs in Debian is a bad idea, won't work half the
time and will wreck your system the other.
I've routinely used webupd8 ppa for Oracle Java installs. This is
specific to Debian however. I have used this for several years, no
problem.

Java is a special case, since it is already a pre-compiled binary
package, done by Oracle with the intention to support as many Linux
distributions as possible, so the dependencies are quite conservative.
A pure Ubuntu-PPA on the other hand is compiled from source for a
special Ubuntu version and with Ubuntu path layout in mind. The
dependencies may be totally wrong for Debian, the paths for some files
may be incorrect on Debian, the installation of the package may even
prompt the deinstallation of other packages you might want to keep.
What I am saying is: if you don't know how to deal with such problem by
mixing Ubuntu and Debian packages you should stay away from using
Ubuntu-PPAs with Debian.
