Well, the pen drive is certainly read-only.

You’re saying, that you have no hardware switch on the device. Stupid question, did you ever write anything to this drive? Can it be that it *is* a read-only pen drive? Maybe some kind of environment that you never should change?

Well, others have said that the pen drive could have an error. Do you get any information with „smartctl -a /dev/sdi”?
