on-the-fly disk partition format streaming?

Hi All,

Is there a way to "stream" simulated filesystems? To narrow that question down: imagine a Beaglebone with a USB IN and OUT. You plug an NTFS formatted USB drive into IN, with a USB cable coming OUT and plugged into, say, a machine running OSX. Linux would simulate a storage device on OUT, and transparently "stream"/emulate an HFS+ file system without actually changing the NTFS partition. OSX thinks it's connected to a normal USB storage device properly formatted to HFS+.

Possible with any existing tools?
