Solved. I edited the file /etc/X11/Xsession.d/30x11-common_xresources and changed the "xorg -merge ..." lines to "xorge ..." and it worked. I don't know if it is a good solution or not! Regards, Anubhav Yadav Imperial College of Engineering and Research, Pune.
