I tried all sorts of stuff regarding .Xresources, as suggested by other posts, but nothing worked for me in that area. (That was while I was still using xterm, of course.)
This works for me in xterm in .Xresources :XTerm*VT100.translations: #override <Btn1Up>: select-end(PRIMARY, CLIPBOARD, CUT_BUFFER0)
