OK...

Huh? Is there a point to that exercise (print gibberish to screen)?
$_DT remains $(date +%Y:%m:%d:%H:%M:%S)

Hu-uh?

So now $SavedIFS = ""....
Is the point to this a troll. Are you trolling? Because $IFS hasn't been
initialised....

OK... this is just, um, bizarre. $IFS remains empty. This *is* a troll
right?

Can I suggest a one line solution to this? - all that bizarre
contortionism could be avoided with:-
_dpvals_arr=$(date +Y)

Unless your point was *not* to make $_dpvals_arr == 2013
You do have a point right?

2+0+1+3=6

Can't help you.
