The installation is on an SSD and work perfectly via a boot to a USB drive.

Have you finished installation? How did you install - from USB drive? Did you remove it?

 

Upon reboot, the system will not boot and hangs on the screen:

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

It sounds like machine didn't rebooted yet at the moment.
