I've been wanting to understand meta-packages for a personal project. Gives me one more assignment. If retirement isn't for learning and expanding horizons, what good is it ;/

We have educational expertise in the congregation - several certified teachers, a former principal, a college professor etc. There are also personal ties to local colleges and a state university. Not only do they have expertise but knowledge of local conditions.

Since the OP will use it for donated computers, it might be important,
that Debians packages are compiled to run on older CPUs.
