Sorry, I should have phrased that differently: you could copy entire 
dierectories within ~/.icedove/profiles/fhvsoiufdhfgei/Mail or similar.

Also, the individual folders on disk are mbox files, maybe you can check 
these for corruption? Have you tried "compacting" 
<https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/compacting-folders?s=msf&as=s> 
in case it's only the index that's corrupted?
