After three hours of experimentation with the five accounts I have in
my Icedove email client I have concluded that the problem is caused by
a few -- very few actually -- corrupted folders. I can't do anything
with those; I cannot move emails to or from them. I can however still
read those emails. I suppose that I could delete the entire folder,
but I want to keep the emails in them for future reference.

The one major problem concerns the generic inbox for one of the
accounts -- anything I try to do with emails in that inbox causes
Icedove to crash. I have consequently filtered all emails to that
account to other folders. In the settings for that account I could
not find anything different from the other four. The inboxes for
those accounts work as they should.

Thanks for your help.

Regards, Ken
