  i'm not sure if you are using a wireless mouse
or not, but if so, check or change the battery.

  if you look at the syslog or messages you might
see related information.

  from a text console i will run tailf /var/log/messages 
or tailf /var/log/syslog to see what is happening as it 
happens.
