You have 213Mb in your root file system, that seems fairly small to me
(especially as you have 477Gb kicking around free in your /home, but
that's not what you asked)
it's a quite long story to tell but that's the result...
Try "sudo du -ahx / | sort -h" to get a listing of file and directory
sizes on that partition. Maybe it can give you some clue as to where to
trim.
