For those who may actually be taking this seriously, the only thing that
ends on 2012-12-21 is the current cycle of the Mayan calendar. If I am
understanding this correctly, this is the equivalent of the current
modern calendar ending on 2012-21-31, except the Mayan cycle spans many
many many many more years.
Those who are blowing their life savings because they think that the end
is nigh, are going to wake up on 2012-12-22, and realize what fools they
were, now that they are penniless and possibly ruined financially. I
know I am most likely preaching to the choir here, but just treat
2012-12-21 like any other day. Simply go about your biz as normal.
For me, that means I will be into the second day of my split Winter
vacation that I have decreed for myself (great being self employed). I
am predicting that on the evening of the 21st, I will be chilling at my
little brother's place back in Eastern Oregon, drinking Alaskan Amber or
something similar, enjoying a little indulgence of some good weed (Ah, I
love being self employed), watching some South Park on Netflix and
perhaps a few other movies, and showing my nephews Guild Wars 2.
